Anne's Black & Pink Eye

Poor little Anne! One night earlier this week, she fell out of bed and when she woke up the next day, she had a black eye. A few days later, she woke up with pink eye in the other one. What a sight for sore eyes! My favorite was all of the questions I got when I took her to the doctor's office. And this was just a week or two after she fell all the way down the stairs...from top to bottom. She certainly keeps us on our toes!

Easter

The Easter bunny came to our house Saturday! Anne was so excited and tried to be such a good little girl all day Friday (with Mommy constantly reminding her to do just that!) Saturday morning, she wanted to run downstairs and hug the Easter bunny but was very disappointed to find out he was so tired and had gone back home to take a nap! No one in the house likes hard boiled eggs except me so for the time being, we've skipped the whole coloring the eggs part. However, new tradition is a Dove chocolate bunny for each of us...I like that one! Next year, however, the Easter bunny will bring all of us milk chocolate! I'm not a dark chocolate fan! (Dan thought they just had fun colors...oh well)

Both girls got a fun flower headband and everything else ended up in Anne's basket. A coloring book, some Match and Go Fish cards, egg shaped sidewalk chalk, Easter socks, Tangled...so much fun! Next year Sophie will get a fun basket too!

It was hard for me to pose the girls and take the photos. (Dan wasn't quite awake just yet) but the girls are still super cute so it doesn't matter that it isn't picture perfect!

Such a happy flower! (Poor girl fell down the stairs the day before...ouchy lip!)

Pretty little flower! Love how she posed herself on this one!

The grand prize of the day was this gigantic egg full of jelly beans! (What was the Easter Bunny thinking???) Anne, however, thought it was the best thing ever!

Swimming with Nana

One of Anne's rewards for potty training was that if she could get 14 stickers (14 days without an accident), she could go swimming with Nana! Well, her goal was reached clear back in February but we weren't able to actually follow through on the reward until April! Poor girl would ask almost every day when could she go swimming with Nana!?!

I took more video than photos so this is pretty much the only picture I have of Anne at the pool. She is getting ready to go swimming and Nana just put some goggles on her! I don't think they stayed on her very long. Anne had so much fun swimming and splashing! Swimming is one of her many favorite fun things to do!

We spent two nights with Nana and Papa. One night, Papa played his harmonica for us and even let Anne take a turn. My favorite part of the trip was my mom taking Sophie for me so I could get some much needed sleep. Too bad my back had other ideas...and a 3 year old in bed with me!
Anne had fun swinging on the swings, looking at the birds, watching Tangled and just spending special time with Nana and Papa! Sophie had so much fun too! It was her first time out to Nana and Papa's.
Just as we were getting ready to go, Anne decided she needed to go for a ride. She said "Hop a ride Nana!" and so Nana took her for a little drive. Both girls slept almost all the way home!
The next day, Anne said "now we can't go swimming anymore!" Poor girl thought that was that. Well, as soon as I can find a new suit, she and I will be spending lots of quality time at our pool!
Thanks again Nana and Papa for a fun trip!

Sophie's 6 months old!

Our little princess Sophie is growing up way too fast! I wish time would slow down just a little bit! Yesterday she turned 6 months old! Both she and her sister went to the doctor for their well child check up! Sophie is 26 inches and 14 lbs! Her sister, Anne, is 38.5 inches and 37 lbs! She's almost half the height of her DAD!!! Yes...she is going to be a tall girl! Tonight Anne decided that she and her sister needed to play dress up! Do you love Sophie's red eyes? She was so tired! I have wanted to take these pictures for a while now and just remembered tonight to take the camera in her room as I was putting her to bed. This little Pooh Bear came from her uncle Vinnie and aunt Heather before she was born. She just loves it! I think it is cute that they are both swaddled in a blanket! She also loves to give him "kisses" (suck on his nose) in the morning when I get her dressed. We are so thankful this little angel joined our family!

Playtime Fun!

Girls just wanna have fun, right? Well, my girls are no exception to this rule! These girls just love having fun all the time! My mom gave me this tea set years ago (after I was married but before we had kids) and I found it up in Anne's closet when I was cleaning it out one day so we had an impromptu tea party with "Daddy" Bear. Other than Anne trying to get the lighter to light the pretend candles, it was a fun time!

Anne has play time with her friend, Ian, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Just a few hours before Ian was to come over, we got a package delivered! I had ordered some fun play-doh and moon-doh sets! These two had so much fun!

I let them each pick their own color of play-doh to create with. The favorite tool was the scissors!

Little Sophie is loving her new found freedom! Now that she can somewhat balance herself, she has been able to play on her own a little more! However, I think she is also teething again...she was going to town on that apple!

After the kids were done playing on the ground and Ian had gone home, Anne wanted to keep playing. I remembered my neighbor had Ian's play-doh on a cookie sheet and now I know why! It is so much easier to contain the mess! Such a smart idea I just had to steal!
