Happy Birthday Grandma Rea!

We decided to make you a birthday card today and share it with you via internet!
Anne started "snapping" her fingers like me so it looks like she is saying "your #1 grandma!" Also, the only shot we could get of her holding the paper by herself, you couldn't really read it so we decided to get a close up of it for you of her beautiful artwork! She had fun coloring.
We love you and hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Rick!

Happy Birthday Rick! I'm sure if Dan had done this he would have wanted some photos that would make you blush a little but it's your day so we'll be nice! However, we just HAD to throw in the photo you sent us of your giant ice cube that was on your lawn! We're still laughing over that one!
We hope that you get to slow down a little today and enjoy it with your family! We love you and your family so much! Hopefully we'll get a chance to talk to you soon!

Happy Birthday Jessica!

This is a collage of photos that I put together for both my sister and myself back in 2002 that is in a fun frame.
I love my sister so, so much! She and I did not get along growing up. I wish we had because I know that she could have been my best friend. I know that we missed out on some great opportunities but that is all in the past and we are great friends now! The biggest blessing has been skype so we can actually see each other often and talk with each other.
Jess, I hope you have the best birthday! We wish we could be there with you on your day but hopefully we'll get to see and talk to you at some point today!

Where did August go?

So, I'll be the first to admit that I'll never get any award for the cutest blog ever or for being clever with wording but really this blog is just for family and friends to see what we've been doing and mostly how much Anne is growing!
Unfortunately, however, time is just going by too fast and things have been busy so we didn't get a lot of photos of some of the fun things we did this past month. We had a fun family reunion with the Tapp family and some random family outings but we did manage to get some fun photos of us taking Anne to Thanksgiving Point to the Farm Country.

Our day started with Emma coming over for just an hour that morning and Anne got to have her first little dress up party. She and Emma dressed up in my old dresses and wore crowns (well, Anne wore her's for 5 seconds) and then we watched Sleeping Beauty and they colored pictures of Auroa. Yes...I love having a girl! =)

Then we were off for the fun! We saw the baby chicks...

and the process of how milk goes from a cow to the grocery store inside and then we headed out.

This was the "puppy" that Anne just loved. I made the mistake of saying how it was little LIKE a puppy but the word that Anne recognized was puppy and so that is what she called it.

We're some pretty cute chicks ourselves, don't you think? I love doing girly things with Anne.

They had horses, chickens, turkeys, cows, pigs, lambs...all things you see on a farm! It was like I was back home again when Grandpa Winterton was still alive and when we had all of our birds and other farm animals.

They had this cute little area with this little dance hall and the jail was next door. Anne thought it was fun.

This is Millie and she came right over to us when we were making "Moo" sounds. Good cow!

We went on a wagon ride. We could have had Anne go on a pony ride but we figured we'd save that for another visit.

This cute grandpa was our "driver" and Anne was having fun saying "hello" and "goodbye" to him. He reminds me of what I picture my Dad being when he grows up...a jolly old man with his horses and in cowboy boots.

Do you love how there are cars behind us? They took us right through the parking lot...not really rustic but it was still fun!

This is Anne pretending to milk a cow. She did a pretty good job at just getting right in there. We weren't sure if she would play along with this photo or not. Some fun memories that I have from growing up are of me and my dad in Winterton's barn milking the jersery cow. Every kid should grow up on a farm...
And today Anne is 18 months old and officially able to be in nursery! However, she's been in there now for over a month. She's growing so fast so we're just enjoying every second we can.
