Count Down to Preschool!!!

I can't believe how fast kids grow up! In just 10 days from today (August 28th), Anne will be starting preschool at Miss Hollie's! She is so excited! I decided to make a fun count down to add to the excitement!
This is the final product...the other balloon was "accidentally" popped! I blew up 10 balloons and each have a fun little treat inside. We hang it on the back of our front door so we can see it all of the time! It isn't super fancy but that is OK. The other side of the poster board has our pin the carrot on the snowman game! =)

Farm Country

After going to BYU, we headed to Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. We just love this time of year when we get to do so many fun things together as a family and it is all thanks to Kennecott. I don't know that I can ever pay full price for some of these places!
You have to get your picture taken on the cow!
This guy had a thing for me. Guess I shouldn't have egged him on!
Sophie is way too cute for this!
We went on a hay ride (minus the hay) pulled by beautiful horses! Sophie loved it! She couldn't get enough of the horses!
Grandpa Rea...she's training for our trip to see you! You've got a little helper in the making!
And, of course, we had to ride the horses! Anne's favorite part of the day!
These girls are naturals...Papa Dewey (hint, hint)!
I know this is a fake cow, but I love the expression on its face! Anne wanted to sit on a real cow but was OK with the alternative!
Enjoying a treat at the end of our day. We're ready to head home!

Go Cougars!!!

We decided to dress the girls up in their blue and white and take them down to BYU campus to the BYU Legacy Hall since we had never been there before.
The girls just love cheering for the cougars!!!
Daddy and his girls!
They have some really neat display cases to look at. Dan was in HEAVEN!
Anne seeing how she measures up!
Daddy is almost as tall!
Anne was so excited that we were going to BYU but was so sad when she discovered we weren't going to a game. So, after we went to the bookstore to get our new t-shirts, we took her by the stadium to see the new columns they just painted! Can't wait for football season to start and to actually see the games on TV this year!!!

Children's Museum at the Gateway

Thanks to Kennecott, we were able to spend a fun day at the Children's Museum at Gateway. We first took the girls to Village Inn for lunch so Anne could redeem her gift certificate for a free kids meal from her summer reading program. Her favorite part was getting her very own hot fudge sundae!
Once at the museum, the girls first went on a little boat ride.
Then Anne played in the water!
Then off to work on the farm!
Anne loves to ride any kind of horse!
Sophie then decided to eat some music...while mommy shook her to make the music!

Then time to make the news!
Anne flying a helicopter...Daddy showed her what everything does!
Sophie having fun with giant legos!
Tallest tower Anne has ever built with legos!
Then Anne was off to the grocery store to get some food!
Time to check out...and check mommy out too!
Anne then put away her groceries and enjoyed a lovely meal with a new friend!
Anne and Daddy were very tired (as well as Mom and Sophie) but we had a fun day together as a family!

Dewey Grandkids

We had a rare treat - all the Dewey grandkids in one place at the same time! Of course we had to capture this moment!
I once read on a blog that if you want to have a fun photo session, you want to be a little silly at first to help the kids be more comfortable. So, I had the kids make funny faces!
Then I asked them to act like a monster!
Then it was finally time to get them to smile and this was the best one we got where no one was still making funny faces or looking away from me.
Of course this will be outdated come October when Vinnie and Heather have their little guy but families are always growing so we'll just have to get together again soon!

Trip to Tracy Aviary with Nana

This year we asked Nana to come with us to Tracy Aviary! We also decided Anne was old enough to go inside with the birds! She, Nana and Daddy went in and spent some time with these beautiful birds!

I am pretty sure this was the highlight of the day!

We also like to watch the bird show. Sophie was more interested in eating mom!

I got to be a part of the bird show! Here I am dressed up as a tree while a bird hopped across all of our arms!

The girls choice of transportation!

Sophie and a penguin!

Anne's wingspan!

These are fun! We each took a turn being fish!
Had to do some group shots!
We are so happy that Nana joined us on this fun family outing! It was great being able to spend the day with her!
